Nowadays, cataract surgery can be performed with great precision, in a very safe manner, and with excellent results. The medical team of the Cataract Department at ICR offers each patient personalized care and recommendations for their surgery.

Customized evaluation before surgery

The decision to undergo surgery is not based solely on the degree of opacity of the crystalline lens (the eye’s natural lens clouded by the cataract), but rather on how it affects the patient’s daily life. To properly assess this, it is very important to visit a specialized medical professional, who will examine the affected eyes, explain what the procedure involves, listen to each patient’s concerns, and provide advice according to their specific case. With all this information, the doctor and the patient will jointly decide on the best time to undergo the surgery, as well as other factors such as the type of lens to be implanted.
