Dr. Dyrda with Professor Adrian Koh, from Singapur.

Dr. Agnieszka Dyrda, Ophthalmologist of the Department of Retina and Vitreous and the Department of Cataract, participated, two weeks ago, in the Advanced Retina Surgery Course organized by the European School of Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology (ESASO – European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology) which took place in Lugano (Switzerland).

The course focused mainly on the surgical use of complex retinal detachment cases and featured lectures given by the world’s best retinians, such as Stanley Chang (USA), Adrian Koh (Singapore), David Keegan (Ireland), Matteo Forlini (Italy) and Robert Rejdak (Poland). During the course, participants also performed surgeries with animal eyes and simulators and they used a robotic arm. With that it was claimed to put into practice the progress of the vitreous retinal surgery to improve the daily care of the patients.
