Institut Català de Retina is a reference healthcare centre offering comprehensive high-quality tailor-made ophthalmic care.

Within the aim of preserving and broadening this tailor-made attention, ICR has trained an assistance team exclusively dedicated to assist international patients during their stay at our centre. Its members are able to communicate in several languages, such as English, French, Arabic or Russian. This approach eases the communication between patients and the ophthalmologists thus making them feel just like at home.

With this particular aim, ICR puts at its patients’ disposal a specific telephone helpline and email to answer demands from patients coming from different countries and wishing to be visited in our centre.

Our international team processes visit demands and assists patients in choosing an appointment with the most specialized ophthalmologist for their case, for the date and time that best suits them.

Moreover, ICR also concentrates its efforts in translating all website contents into several languages in order to make them available to all patients. ICR website contents are currently available in Catalan, Spanish, French, English, Arabic, Russian and German.

On top of all this, ICR offers high quality ophthalmic healthcare endorsed by 30 years of experience in the ophthalmology area and by our medical team, composed of 85 ophthalmologists, with a wide educational background at a national and international level, covering all ophthalmology sub-specialties.

The centre continuously moves forward in terms of integrating state-of-the-art technology, such as last generation OCT-guided microscopes for ocular microsurgery or the latest diagnosis tools, which make ICR one of the few centres in Spain having such technology at its patients’ disposal.

Our passion for ophthalmology has positioned our centre as one of the most well-known centres in the ophthalmology area.
