Members of the Patient Care Department of the ICR, attended on June 7 and 8, the 1st Congress on Mediation in Healthcare organized by the Catalan Society of Health Mediation (SCMS) that was held in Barcelona, under the slogan “Establishing Networks “
The SCMS aims to transform the quality of relationships in health organizations and, thus, this conference has been organized to create a space to share experiences among experts, and to set up a network of relationships in order to learn and spread knowledge on this subject.

Iván López, Joan Betsué and Karla Torres, members of the Patient Care Department of the ICR, attended the congress and presented the poster entitled “Loyalty of patients with incidents in an ophthalmological center in the 2014-2017 period”.
This poster analyzes the totality of claims filed by patients between 2014 and 2017. The purpose is to measure the rate of claims to establish a response pattern and to obtain the loyalty quota of patients who presented a disagreement.
In the conclusion, the poster states that there is an increase in the number of claims that are filed, and is attributed to to the increase in patient expectations that goes hand in hand with the increase in expectations in our society . The good news is that the ICR has achieved the loyalty of a larger number of patients after a claim, possibly due to the improvement in staff training.
