Dr. Reyes and the refractive surgery team awarded at the Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons

The 36th Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), the largest academic event in the field of Refractive Surgery in Europe, was held from 22 to 26 September in Vienna.

During the congress, training courses, symposiums, and communications sessions were developed, one of which included video communications.

Dr. Reyes, awarded for a video about the complications during a refractive surgery with femtosecond laser

In the “Video Awards Session”, Dr. Reyes and the refractive surgery team of ICR were awarded in the Educational category for their communication entitled: “Easy tips to overcome your problems in femtosecond assisted LASIK surgery”, in which it is explained how to avoid or solve the few complications that may occur during the course of refractive surgery with femtosecond laser.

A video of great educational value

The jury highlighted the great educational value provided by the communication to young surgeons who are initiated in this technique or to those who have experience in other techniques and are not yet familiar with a femtosecond laser or that start their journey with this type of technology.

The awarded videos, selected among hundreds of participants, highlight innovative and independent research that offers potential solutions to many of the unsolved problems in the field of cataract and refractive surgery.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Reyes and the Refractive Surgery Department of ICR for their great work and for the recognition received by the organization of the ESCRS Congress.
