ICR’s Myopia Unit aims to focus and improve treatments against myopia, one of the most common visual defects.
Myopia’s symptoms are treated with optical correction or surgery. The myopic eye is more likely to develop other pathologies (glaucoma, macular degeneration (AMD) or retinal detachment), which can lead to vision loss.
The Myopia Unit establishes specific control protocols for children with myopia, adolescents with a very rapid progression and adults with high myopia, or who have regression after refractive surgery.
The Myopia Unit offers orthokeratology treatments to slow down myopia and fosters the use of new diagnostic techniques to control myopia such as macular OCT, tomography and Biometry.
